For Owners

If you’re being sent this page by a breeder or trainer, congrats… you’ve selected one of the best of the best.  They care very much about how your puppy is delivered & want to bring you up to speed on a quickly growing travel option they use with their puppy families with even more confidence than traditional delivery options.

If you’re being sent this page by a friend who wants you to know you have better options for delivery & thought you might want to talk to your breeder or trainer about it, congrats…you have a gem for a bestie :)

Here’s the deal.  Bark N Ride is a platform for a community of verified dog professionals to coordinate travel with one another rather than using traditional delivery options. This results in the puppy, family & professional all having a better experience.  And it doesn’t cost the adoptive family any more than a typical delivery fee.  That’s it!

Here You Are!

You’re finally ready to welcome your new family member.

You’ve been waiting & preparing for this moment for months…maybe years.

You’ve done all of the research.

Chosen the right breed.

Carefully selected the breeder.

Picked the perfect puppy.

Made sure she’s getting socialized.

That all of the critical little milestones that happen within those first few months of life are being attended to.

Because you know they make a lifelong impact on your puppy.

Now it’s time to get her home.

Did you know that what happens during this small window of time, from when she leaves her birth home to come to her forever home, can also have a lifelong impact?

Most new puppy owners have no idea what’s at stake during these critical few days..

And what is actually at risk?

Time for that to change.

Let me introduce myself…

My name is Haley & I’ve been a dog trainer for 18 years, having worked with hundreds of breeders. I know from experience that, hands down, one of the biggest risks we take is transport. After all of the careful effort & attention we’ve dedicated in the past couple of months ensuring this puppy is well socialized, confident, & even trained, the last thing we want is a traumatic experience to undo it all! But so often that’s exactly what happens. Ideall,y we always want new puppy owners to come and pick up their puppy on-site so we can be confident that the puppy will be travelling home with someone who cares deeply about them. We also want new puppy families to have access to our valuable insight & expertise during handoff. We strive for that scenario as much as possible. BUT…that isn’t always possible. Sometimes a puppy has to be delivered.

The 4 Current Options

180.png

Airline Cargo Service

Yuck…for a lot of reasons.  But faster than ground, usually. If you know, you know. And if you’ve ever had to ship or pick up a puppy from air cargo…you know.

Pet Nanny

Can be expensive & somewhat risky.  The nanny will likely get the puppy where it needs to go but doesn’t have any professional expertise to support the puppy's behavior & needs during transport or to share during handoff.

Ground Transport Service

Yikes! For a lot of reasons! Puppies get stuffed into a Tetris game of crates secured with straps & bungee cords & end up riding like that way farther than they need to while the driver picks up/drops off everyone else’s dogs on the way!

Drive the puppy ourselves

Which is what we usually do.

Why?

Because we care.

So, we put life on hold for a day or two to deliver the puppy.

When we can.

But maybe there's a better option. A much better option.

And it completely bypasses transport, cargo, or nanny services and instead taps into the power of community.

Dog's heart rates have been recorded to reach 180 bpm while being loaded onto an aircraft cargo hold.

Common issues with transport nanny services include last-minute cancellations, inexplicable delays, demands for extra fees, outright theft of funds, and failure to deliver pets safely or on time.

How It Works

1- Bark N Ride carefully screens & verifies pet professionals to be a part of their ride-sharing community.

2- Breeders & trainers coordinate needed travel with one another.

3- Puppy arrives delivered in a direct route by an actual pet professional at a low cost rather than a low-wage transporter who is hired by an agency that ends up keeping most of the money to run their business & sacrificing the well-being of the dog to make their logistics as a transportation company work.

4- Puppies have a much more enjoyable trip & owners are served on a whole new level… usually at a lower cost.

It’s a Win-Win-Win for everybody!

Now that’s taking care of people!

That’s how it works!

Let your puppy’s breeding or training professional know you would like your pet’s travel coordinated on the Bark N Ride platform! If your breeder or trainer is already a verified community member, they’ll handle it from there. If they are not already a member of the Bark N Ride community, request they apply to join so they can connect with other professionals & serve their puppies & adoptive families better!
